At year end December 31, 2010, Keystone Royalty Corp. owned interests in over 212,000 gross acres of fee mineral title in the Province of Saskatchewan, with additional minor title interests in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. The Company holds royalty and/or working interests in another 24,000+ gross acres of lands in Saskatchewan.
Only 12.8% of Keystone’s lands were producing at year ended December 31, 2010. Perhaps more significantly, approx. 80% of our lands in the Bakken core areas were leased to industry at that time and only 46% had been drilled.
The Bakken formation will continue to be a significant source of royalty revenue for the Company in the next 5-10 years. The current Keystone land base is well-diversified, with extensive lands throughout both the conventional Mississippian production areas and the Bakken play. The Bakken is the second largest light oil accumulation ever found in Canada with every quarter section estimated to contain over 1 million barrels of light sweet oil.
Land Position
Keystone currently holds over 213,000 gross acres and over 73,000 net acres of fee mineral title. Given that the true value of the Keystone land inventory is only fully realized once the lands are developed, we continue to focus on and execute development opportunities.
Keystone’s Royalty and Title Acquisitions
Keystone Royalty Corp. has become one of the most active fee
mineral and royalty purchasers in Saskatchewan.
Keystone has the expertise to quickly evaluate,
and the financial strength to execute, on both large and small
acquisitions of producing and non-producing mineral properties.
